NEW YORK - Two months after Pope Benedict XVI touched off fury across the Islamic world with remarks linking violence and Prophet Muhammad, he appeared on the David Letterman Show via satellite during his flight from Rome to Ankara last night to apologize to the Muslims. "For me to be at a symposium and say this stuff, I'm deeply, deeply sorry," said the Pope. "I'm not a racist.
