The Penguins announced that the team will not demolish Mellon Arena but instead will build an identical arena next to it. The team hopes that when the "duel arenas" are seen from the air, they will simulate "a beautiful woman."The Penguins had initially selected Lego Corporation to design and build a new arena but nixed its design due to fears that Lego’s plastic floors could not support the weight of the fans.
